Meeting with the European Union Delegation
On 1 June the British Chamber of Commerce was invited by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama to participate in a meeting with a visiting delegation from the European Union. Present at the meeting were members of the European Union Delegation, both visiting and permanent in Panama, representatives of the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, and representatives from the Panamanian, German, Italian and British Chamber of Commerce.
The points discussed included the growth of the Panamanian economy over the past decade and how it has positively impacted investments within the country. Additionally, points on potential for improvement in education and infrastructure were raised. Finally, concerns of the implementation of the EU-Central America Association Agreement were also discussed, along with statements from all those present on the positive outlook of Panama’s relationship with the European Union.
