May Lunch: Employee and Electronic Security in the Workplace

On 25 May the British Chamber of Commerce hosted an Executive Lunch around the topic of security. Given the recent unfortunate events in Panama, we felt it was appropriate to have a lunch where the two security members of the Chamber shared best practices on how companies can make their work environments more secure.

The two speakers were Raul Rivas, General Manager of the CSC Group and Lt. Grugdiva Chillambo, Adviser to Federal Security Panama. Raul spoke about how companies can strengthen their electronic security in their workplace through installing the appropriate software that prevents hacking/data theft, and security cameras in sensitive areas. Lt. Chillambo spoke about how companies can implement policies that guarantee that managers are hiring the right people to handle sensitive tasks.

After the presentations, both speakers answered great questions by attendants, and there was even a very spirited debate on the different methods of doing background checks on employees and potential hires.
